minitourney aftermath and iron wolf - reorganization
The Aftermath of the Mini tourney :
The battle plans have been properly laid down and the simplicity of the strategy in using the force organization was sound and was if found to be potent force if properly used after several war games and maneuver to test its Combat effectiveness.
The time battle force Alpha was detach and was sent to the galleria sector to investigate and confirm reports of alien activity in the area and if possible take control of the area. Strike force Alpha only found other space marine detachment also sent by their respective chapters to investigate . The failure of Strike force Alpha to find the enemy was was blamed on its commander Ergrin lack of combat experience and the lack of logistics for one the whole force was lost in the warp during the critical stages of the operation.Further investigation confirmed this.
Based on the intercepted communications from other chapters, A Strong Tau presence in the area was confirmed, as well as Chaos and Necrons was in force within the sector . By the time the Imperium have declared to evacuate the area task force alpha was almost annihilated by a unknown space marine strike force (later learned as the Luna Wolves ). The Inquisitions decision was based on the last intelligence report that the Tau was receiving strong reinforcements after being stalled by the unknown Space marine (loyalist or Traitor?) Luna wolves(Jesse), a Tau same Battle force demolished the Ultramarines(mike) and the Dark Angels(Naj) the Tau Empire(Marty) have overran most the sector. Other reports from the Space Marine chapters, Raven Guard(Francis) and Son of Light(Meandere) confirmed that Necrons(skink1m) and Chaos(Art) is also in the area. this confirm the decision of the imperium Allied/DH(Alfred) fears and the decision to withdraw and reorganize.
Battle force Alpha was ordered back to base to reorganize and study the report .
Home Report :
The wolf guard battle leader Ergrin and wolf guard commanding the Vindicator was faced with a military court marshal/inquiry - The wolf leader was found not guilty . It was proven that the tactics that was employed were sound but the lack of Drop pods during the campaign was critical as it hampered the Iron Wolves mobility and with the majority of the force lacked the combat experience needed for the particular mission (most of which are Blood Claws). The while the commander of the vindicator (not named) was also found not guilty (due to equipment malfunction of the targeting system) but was sent to sector 12 against the Tyranids.
Battle Leader Ergrin was then promoted as second-in-command to Wolf Priest Helgunnr (holy man), and share command with Venerable Dreadnought LanglĂf (long life)adviser . Will form a tribunal or tactical planning and strategy. the new force will approximately consist of the following :

Combat Doctrine/Strategy :
Like most space wolves clans the Iron Wolves specializes in Close quarter combats. Generally known for its Blood Claws furious assaults, Grey hunters tenacity and head strong determination and the Long fangs fire control heavy support. Supported by other more specialized units such as the Wolf scouts and the very flexible Wolf guards.
Space wolves rarely use Deep strike via tunnelling . And doesn’t like the idea of using jump packs (except for Blood Claws). The Iron wolves are not an exception to this
In addition to this the Iron wolves practice Drop pod assaults, not just as support or in reserve, but in cases whole battle groups are deployed in drop pods. Often leaving heavy tanks on their Battle Barge, using infantry and dreadnoughts deployed via drop pods striking the enemy’s within its battle lines. The other usual tactic employed is to deploy a mobile Strike force and wolf scouts to assess and determine the enemy’s disposition, strength, weakness and then deploy units through drop pod assaults or create a defensive line and try to lure the enemy into attacking the well defended position and send in reinforcements to break the attack and then counter-attacking enemy to drive back the enemy or attack using assault drop pods over the weakened or over extended enemy positions.
In certain circumstances where the use of Drop pods is not available/ or Viable the iron wolves are also deadly in using a standard space wolf combat doctrines. In the absence of Drop pods Iron wolves often utilized mobile infantry units(in Razorbacks or Rhinos) supported by a Long Fangs, Vindicator or a Land raider Crusader. These units are often led by a Venerable dreadnought or a Wolf Guard Battle Leader.
